What advice would you have given yourself three years ago?

1. You can't do everything on your to do list everyday. Learn to grace yourself.
2. For classes, all you need is a few decent pens, a folder, a notebook, and a pack of index cards.
3. Practice your Greek vocabulary everyday. It's worth the effort.
4. Go to sleep when you're tired. It makes you less of a jerk.
5. Talk less. And when you're listening, ACTUALLY listen- don't just take the space when the other person is talking to think about what you are going to say.
6. Forgive.
7. Learn to play.
8. Get the $60 dollar haircut. It's worth it every single time.
9. Save every month, even if its only a little.
10. Buy the cute red shoes.

By the end of your life, what do you hope to have accomplished?

A doctorate in theology.
A family, with full grown children and maybe some grandchildren.
I would like to have been in a pastoral position at a church for a considerable length of time.
I want to have written a book.
I would like to have taught a few college or graduate level courses.
...but ultimately, when I am at the end of my life, I want to know that I have lived it well. I want to have had good, healthy relationships. I want to have fallen in love. I want to have learned how to fail. I want to leave a legacy of faithfulness.
